SUMMARY:Participating in the Teaching Ancient in a Digital Age: Emerging Methods and Literacies in the Ancient Mediterranean Classroom\, a National Endowment for the Humanities funded Institute for Higher Education Faculty.
DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone\,  \nI’m writing to share a quick update with my community: I’ll be participating in Teaching Ancient in a Digital Age: Emerging Methods and Literacies in the Ancient Mediterranean Classroom\, a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)–funded Institute for Higher Education Faculty. I’ve attached a calendar invitation with the basic details.  \nThis program expands data and digital literacy for educators in ancient Mediterranean studies by training higher-education faculty and advanced graduate students in digital methods and resources for studying ancient texts and material evidence. The goal is to help participants develop strong\, classroom-ready lesson plans that integrate these skills\, and to share those resources with the broader teaching community.  \nAs our digital landscape continues to evolve\, through new tools for collaboration\, data sharing\, multimedia content\, and analysis\, teaching and learning in ancient history and archaeology are changing quickly. The recent growth of generative AI makes it even more important that we cultivate critical data and digital literacies that support student success in increasingly digital futures.  \nIf you’re interested\, I’d love to compare notes or hear what you’re trying in your own teaching. I’m also happy to share takeaways\, lesson-plan ideas\, and digital resources as I go.
