Sacred African *objects* as regalias : a decolonial approach to restitution : Insights from the TRANSMAT | IN2PAST 2025 International Conference
Participating in TRANSMAT | IN2PAST 2025 International Conference was an occasion to engage with like-minded scholars and cultural actors on transdisciplinary frameworks to decolonizing the museum. What triggered my interest in this conference was the concept note that seamlessly aligned with my current research activities and recent publication.I designed my presentation Sacred African objects as regalias : a decolonial approach to restitution as a workshop. It was a last minute decision as I caught a cold during my trip to Portugal. I had a soar throat and an unmelodious voice. I believed then that no matter how full-blown or original my conference paper could be, a cacophonous voice would neither help with an impactful delivery nor enhance lasting impressions.
